Through
fundraising, the Windsor Aquatic Club’s
membership fees are lower than
most other competitive swim clubs. Shop & Support is
an easy way to help raise money for the club as well as your
own swimmer's account at no out of pocket cost to you! Simply
purchase
gift cards for your everyday shopping and gifts and the club
receives a percentage in return. Also as a registered non-profit
organization, we are granted bingo licenses from the City of Windsor. A portion of the club's total
revenue is raised through these bingos. Private clubs cannot
raise funds in this manner. |
|
|
|
Revenue
raised from bingos is used to pay for operating expenses of
the swim club, to purchase training equipment and to subsidize
out-of-town
swim meets. Consequently, we ask each competitive swim
family to work bingo's as follows: |
Family responsibility = 8 bingo credits per swimming
season |
|
These
bingo dates can be done at any WAC licensed event @ Classic Bingo V. This yearly obligation is
set per family, and NOT per swimmer.
Check for dates.
|
 |
To
ensure that each family works the required bingo's, four (4)
post-dated
cheques will be collected at the time of registration in the
amount of $100.00 each. See fee
schedule for dates. If you choose not to
work your bingo commitment, your post-dated cheque will be
cashed as your contribution to the club’s fundraising
efforts. We would prefer to have you work the
bingo rather than cash your cheque. We need you physically there in order to conduct
the bingo events. |
|
| In
addition to bingo's, our club supports and organizes an annual Swim-a-thon. Participation
in the swimming portion of the Swim-a-thon is mandatory, and the collection
of pledges and pledge money by the swimmer offsets your Swim-a-thon
Assessment. A family member is needed to attend to count the
number of laps that each swimmer completes. Other fundraising
efforts include Shop & Support, WAC calendar, chocolate bar and
lollipop sales. Businesses may also show their support on our Sponsors
page. |
|
| Also,
when WAC hosts a swim meet, all available senior swimmers and
at least one parent per family are highly encouraged to volunteer. Every
season we host one or two SEAL Meets, so please reserve these dates
on your calendars as soon as they are released. It takes
a lot of volunteers to run a successful meet. There will
be lots of opportunities to lend a hand. So don't be shy,
and contact the WAC office to volunteer. You'll be glad you
did! |
